Anti-viral Paxlovid available for COVID-19 treatment
Cow Creek Health and Wellness is able to offer Cow Creek Tribal members and patients of CCHW clinics the anti-viral medication Paxlovid in order to help treat COVID-19.
Paxlovid is an oral medication prescribed to patients who are at high-risk of complications due to COVID-19.
In order to receive Paxlovid as a treatment, patients must be early in the stages of their infection with the virus. Doctors recommend the patient have mild to moderate symptoms, and be within five days of their initial COVID-19 symptom onset.
Paxlovid trials demonstrated it reduces the risk of hospitalization due to COVID for high-risk patients by 89%.
Cow Creek Health and Wellness is able to conference with patients who need access to the medication. Please call the Cow Creek Health and Wellness Center at (541) 672-8533 and request a telehealth appointment to discuss Paxlovid due to COVID-19 infection.
