Tribal Enrollment

Tribal Enrollment Card

Applicants must be lineally descended from persons on the Base Roll. The Base Roll was created and adopted in January 1991, in accordance with the Judgment Fund Act. This means that you must have a parent or grandparent on the Base Roll to enroll.

Applications for the Tribal Enrollment must be accompanied with the applicant’s original birth certificate. Original birth certificates are available for purchase from the state and in some cases, the county in which the applicant was born. The birth certificate will be photocopied and sent back to the applicant via certified mail.

Lineal affiliation is proven through a certified paternal/maternal DNA test, which is required to prove lineal descendancy.

The Tribe will pay the costs of DNA testing.

Once the paperwork has been received by the Board Assistant, you will be contacted and an appointment will be schedule for the DNA testing for both parent and child.

Completed applications and test results for Tribal Enrollment are presented to the Board of Directors for approval. Once approved, the Board Assistant will assign a Tribal Roll Number to the applicant. A copy of the paperwork with the assigned number will be sent to the applicant.
